Megan Cole, Director of Social Media
Megan spends much of her time working in online social media and has developed a passion in sharing the knowledge with people and businesses that could benefit from tapping into the world of "Web 2.0" and how the rapid advancements of technology is changing how we communicate.
Megan is a consultant, designer, blogger and photographer. She also hosts an online video podcast promoting Canadian independent music, ThisCityRocks.
Currently, Megan is Director of Social Media with Catapult Media, consulting and designing in building online communities for non-profit organizations.
She blogs regularly on her personal site and contributes to various community blogs, such as Now Public, a participatory online news network for citizen journalists.
Megan has spoken at several conferences over the past year on how to market yourself and your business online and increase your web presence using various powerful social softwares.
Megan worked as a web marketer in 2006 at a web design firm in Vancouver, traveling to and participating in many technology conferences, representing the company and promoting the studios’ work, while covering the conferences through blogging, videoblogging, podcasting and connecting through online networks.
Prior to living in Vancouver, Megan grew up in Newfoundland, worked as a web designer in Saskatoon, and has worked in sports journalism in radio and television while living in Montreal and Toronto, including working for CBC Sports at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy.
